I’m frequently asked what I do to keep my skin looking so clear and healthy so I’m sharing with you the products I use in my morning skin routine.
I start every morning with a facial mask from Shea Moisture African Black Soap Problem Skin Facial Mask. African Black Soap is known for drawing out impurities in the skin but what I also love about this product is that one of the ingredients is Tea Tree Oil, which is a natural antiseptic and helps prevent breakouts. I’ve been blessed with skin that is not too problematic but I was still getting breakouts here and there, which often happens just from wearing makeup many hours per day, impurities in the air and sweating at the gym. I have almost zero breakouts now that I use the African Black Soap Mask on a daily basis. I wear the mask for at least 15 minutes in the morning while I’m making coffee and up to 30 minutes or until my skin tingles and then I know it’s time to wash off the mask with cold water.
I pat dry my skin and next I use an anti-aging serum before my moisturizer. I like using INNUTRA U-TURN because it contains natural ingredients such as Green Coffee Bean Oil that break down free radicals, it stimulates collagen production and improves your skin’s moisture barrier through several ingredients including Rice Bean Protein and Hyaluronic Acid. I use only two pumps from the bottle with a few drops of water and massage the serum on my face and even neck. I love that I have started seeing a more even skin tone since I added U-Turn to my skin routine, and as a result I can use less concealer to correct under eye dark circles.
After my serum I moisturize with another great product from Shea Moisture, it’s called African Black Soap Problem Skin Moisturizer. This moisturizer helps to balance oily skin and also contains Tea Tree Oil which helps to prevent blemished complexions. It’s a fairly thick cream so I don’t need to use a lot for my skin to feel smooth and hydrated.
After allowing my moisturizer to sink in for a couple minutes, I then apply a small amount of sunscreen, even in winter time. My favorite sun screen for my face is Neutrogena Clear Face Liquid Lotion Sun Screen. I use SPF 30 currently but it also comes in SPF 55 which I use in the summer. I’ve been really happy with this sunscreen because it’s so lightweight and blends well with the moisturizer and serum. My skin feels hydrated and protected but doesn’t feel like the combination of products are too heavy. Also I haven’t had any breakouts from using Clear Face so it lives up to the name.
Last but not least I use Vaseline Lip Therapy Crème Brulee. This is the best moisturizer I’ve ever use for my lips, the Creme Brulee smells amazing and the tiny jar is adorable! I buy several of these at a time and keep one at home, at the office and in my purse. It’s awesome protection against chapped lips and I use Vaseline Lip Therapy every day.
